HOW TO APPLY FOR AN ENTRY VISA

International students must apply directly to the Institute of Professional Studies with all necessary documentation and the Institute will submit the Visa Application on your behalf.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR YOUR VISA APPLICATION

                                a. School leaving certificate
                                b. Mark Sheet

    • Attested (certified) passport copy, minimum validity 2 years.
    • Attested (certified) Police Certificate (native language & in English)

                                a. No criminal convictions record
                                b. Valid for 6 months (from application deadline)

    • Attested (certified) clear Medical Certificates (native language & in English) for:

                                a. HIV/AIDS
                                b. Hepatitis B
                                c. Hepatitis C
                                d. Syphilis
                                e. Chest X-Ray report (Tuberculosis) – valid for 4 months (from application deadline)

    • Attested (certified) Bank Letter & Bank Statement (native language & in English)

                                a. Bank Letter
                                        i. Should state that the student or sponsor (father or mother) has the financial ability to support the student’s tuition                                         fees at Institute of Professional Studies (the name of the Institute should be mentioned) and living expenses in Cyprus                                         during the whole study period.
                                        ii. Bank letter validity should not exceed 6 months from the application form.
                                b. Bank Statement
                                         i. Should state the balance of the account to be €8,500 in the last month before the student submits the application                                         to the Institute.
                                        ii. If applicable: during the visa interview the student should submit a new/fresh bank statement with the same                                         amount (€8,500) that is in the account maximum 10 days before the visa interview.

    • Visa Application Fee €130* (non-refundable).
    • Deposit of €3,000 accompanied by a copy of:

                                a. SWIFT code
                                b. Bank receipt
                                c. University receipt

    • Once the Permit of Entry is issued, in order for the Institute to provide it to the student, the remaining pending fees (per course of study) must be deposited

* The Application Fee of €50 and the Visa Application Fee of €130 are not considered part of the tuition fee and it is non-refundable.

IMPORTANT NOTES

    • All the above documents must first be scanned and sent to info@uclancyprusips.ac.cy for confirmation and all ORIGINAL documents must be mailed (by courier) to the Institute to:

    • Some documents and for some countries, attestations are needed by other authorities besides the Embassy of Cyprus.
    • In countries that the Cyprus Republic does not have an Embassy/Consulate, all above documents must be sent for attestations to the Embassy/Consulate of the Cyprus Republic that is designated for the country of the student’s residence/nationality.
    • Please make sure that the documents are attested from each country’s authorities, as stated in the International Students – Country Visa Information guide in our website.
    • For nationalities that the visa is issued from the Embassy/Consulate of Cyprus in the country of residence of the applicant (after a short interview) then this is attached in the student’s passport.

GENERAL VISA GUIDELINES

All documents will be evaluated by the Migration Department and a decision will be communicated to the Institute. This visa is valid only for a limited number of days after arrival and must be renewed immediately by contacting the Student Support Department of the Institute.

UPON ARRIVAL IN CYPRUS

Upon arrival at Larnaka airport, students will be required to present to the Immigration authorities the following:

    • Original passport
    • Copy of the Entry Permit (and/or visa stamped on passport)
    • Registration Letter by the Institute
    • Receipt of Payment of the Deposit to the Institute
    • Cash money minimum €2,000

BANK ACCOUNT

All students must open a Bank account with a local Bank and deposit a minimum of €1000. A copy of the Bank book and the receipt should be submitted to the Institute of Professional Studies for the Temporary Residence Permit (Pink Slip). A UCLan Cyprus IPS student registration letter and a Housing Contract (attested by Notary Public or the Community Council president) should be presented to the bank when opening a bank account.

MIGRATION REGULATIONS

According to the Cyprus authorities, students must attend their classes regularly. Students who do not register for an academic year will have to depart from Cyprus.

VISA RENEWAL FEES

For the renewal and application of the Temporary Residence Permit (Pink Slip), the following (approximate) charges are applicable:

    • Pink slip application fee €35
    • Alien book fee €70
    • Medical Insurance €130
    • Medical tests €70 (blood tests & x-ray)

Total €305
